Hab’ Ich Ein Bauernfrühstück! (German Farmer’s Breakfast)

Bauernfruehstueck 2

Bauernfruehstueck

Sadly, I have never had a chance to try out this dish in Germany during my previous trips to this land of sausages. The closest to this dish that I have ever had was the Bratkartoffeln (stir-fried potato slices) which was always available at the Wochenmarkt in Frankfurt. I can still recall the irresistible whiff of fried potato fragrance whenever we approached the market stalls. This lingering aroma must have frozen in time in my mind, thanks to the prolonged winter back then.

Chinese Curry Chicken With Home-Made Curry Paste

Chinese Curry Chicken 3

Chinese Curry Chicken

This was my first time making curry chicken from scratch – chopping up individual spices and then blending all of them into a paste. This set of ingredients is almost identical to those of the ‘Malay Spicy Ayam Masak Merah‘: candlenuts, galangal, lemongrass, chillies, shallots etc. It was therefore amazing to see how a similar set of ingredients could churn out a different dish altogether.

That, in turn, led to her family and her own life being continuously threatened by the murderer after he was released from the prison. On the other hand, the college boy, who had the special ability to ‘hear’ someone else’s thoughts by looking into one’s eyes, had fastidiously decided to stay by the lawyer’s side to protect her and to repay her kindness. The combination of the lawyer’s wit and the boy’s special ability eventually helped to tide them through all the dangerous episodes in their life.

Buddha Hand Sugar Syrup And A Sweet Ever After

Buddha Hand Syrup

Buddha Hand Syrup 2

The Buddha hand fruit was only available in the supermarkets during the Chinese New Year festive season; two weeks after the festive celebrations, these fruits were all removed from the shelves. Curiosity got the better of me and I had to buy them back home before they were gone in order to find out more about these little (freaky) wonders of nature.
