\"Doraemon\"<\/em>I was not anticipating Sheng Siong to have the capability to display such unexpected surprises for supposedly adult customers. The moment I saw the familiar dark blue box, my visceral response was\u00a0ignited\u00a0and I sprang,\u00a0literally, with joy. It has survived the cruel fate that was to be for so many other childhood toys and snacks.<\/p>\n

This little rectangular box costed S$0.45, no doubt cheap by local standards, but it’s not exactly cheap to have to pay S$0.10 for every choco-ball you eat. You’ve guessed it. There were only 4 undersized, malnourished-looking, pathetic, not-so-round chocolate rice balls in the diminutive transparent packet to munch on. Plus, there is a piece of toy – a roller whale – which, you’re right again,\u00a0couldn’t roll. Notwithstanding such spoilers after the initial exhilaration, I decided that it was still fun savouring some of the fond memories that came back in time\u00a0for a visit.<\/p>\n

Perhaps another good piece of information for Doraemon die-hard fans is that the Doraemon cartoon is currently showing every Sunday morning\u00a0on Channel 8, at 09.30am. Beloved Doraemon does have magical powers after all.<\/p>\n
