{"id":11246,"date":"2019-07-27T13:14:25","date_gmt":"2019-07-27T05:14:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/peepor.net\/pint\/blog\/?p=11246"},"modified":"2019-07-27T13:14:25","modified_gmt":"2019-07-27T05:14:25","slug":"earl-grey-tea-cream-dessert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/peepor.net\/pint\/blog\/?p=11246","title":{"rendered":"Earl Grey Tea Cream Dessert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11248 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/peepor.net\/pint\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Earl-Grey-Tea-Cream-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"686\" \/><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11249 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/peepor.net\/pint\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Earl-Grey-Tea-Cream-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"497\" \/><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Simple yummy dessert that exudes earl grey tea fragrance and a light creamy taste.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/em>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fresh milk: 300ml<\/li>\n<li>Earl Grey tea bag: 1<\/li>\n<li>Egg: 2, yolks and whites separated<\/li>\n<li>Caster sugar: 2 tbsp<\/li>\n<li>Gelatine powder: 3 tbsp<\/li>\n<li>Hot water: 3 tbsp<\/li>\n<li>Double cream: 150ml<\/li>\n<li>Fruits: to serve<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>Method<\/strong><\/em>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Place milk and tea bag into a saucepan. Bring to a boil.<\/li>\n<li>Once it starts to boil, remove from heat. Leave to steep for 15min till well-coloured.<\/li>\n<li>Beat egg yolks with sugar. Strain into milk mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Return saucepan to heat. Simmer for 10min, stirring continuously till custard thickens slightly. Remove heat and set aside.<\/li>\n<li>In a separate bowl, mix together gelatine powder and water. Place in a water bath and stir till dissolved.<\/li>\n<li>Mix gelatine mixture into tea mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Separately whip cream till thick but not stiff. Fold into custard.<\/li>\n<li>Separately whisk egg whites till stiff. Fold into custard.<\/li>\n<li>Pour custard into dampened moulds. Leave to set in fridge for 2hrs.<\/li>\n<li>Serve chilled with fruits.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11247 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/peepor.net\/pint\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Earl-Grey-Tea-Cream.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"471\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Trick<\/strong><\/em>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leaving the custard to set for 2hrs after the gelatine is mixed into it (step 6 above) and stirring it once in a while will prevent all the gelatine from settling right at the bottom of the mould (which was exactly what happened in mine haha).
