And perhaps an apt way to wish myself luck is to cook a vegetable that sounds pretty close to what I&#8217;m getting myself into for the next 4 weeks or so &#8211; <em>crunch, crunch, crunch!<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Ingredients:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Oil: 1 tbsp<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Red onion: 1, small, chopped<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Red chilli: 1, chopped<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Long beans: 100g, chopped into small bits<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Salt: a pinch<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Minced pork: 120g, seasoned with 1 tsp corn starch, 1 tsp fish sauce, 1 tsp sesame oil and pinch of pepper<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Shaoxing wine: 1 tbsp<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Egg: 2, beaten with pepper and pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Fish sauce: 1 tbsp<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pepper: to taste<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Parsley: 1 stalk, chopped<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><strong>Method<\/strong>:<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Heat oil in wok. Add onions and fry till fragrant and light brown.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Add chilli, long beans and salt. Stir-fry 1min.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Add minced meat and Shaoxing wine. This would prevent it from drying up too quickly before serving.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Add dried shrimps at step 1 to obtain an even more authentic Chinese flavour.
