The first time round, it was a dessert &#8211; &#8216;<strong><a title=\"Husband\u2019s (Heavenly) Halloween Mango Ice-Cream\" href=\"https:\/\/peepor.net\/pint\/blog\/?p=5846\" rel=\"bookmark\">Husband\u2019s (Heavenly) Halloween Mango Ice-Cream<\/a><\/strong>&#8216; &#8211; which saw me carve scary faces out of orange peels.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This time round, I decided to buy real pumpkins from the supermarket to make pumpkin soup. This is one of the most traditional ways to celebrate Halloween; an inspiration gained from the time the guy was in Frankfurt when he had pumpkin soup for Halloween at his workplace too. I actually wasn&#8217;t too keen on it at first as I&#8217;m neither a fan of squash or pumpkin, nor am I a fan of soup. But try and we shall see. \ud83d\udc7f<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Surprisingly, it turned out that the guy loves the soup a lot, and I personally find it really tasty and sweet too &#8211; not as bland and boring as I&#8217;ve thought it would be, especially with cr\u00e8me fra\u00eeche added. The carrots complemented the taste of the pumpkin very well to make this a really healthy pot of delight to enjoy for everyone at home.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/em>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Butter: 2 tbsp<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Onion: 1, chopped<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pumpkin: 1 medium-sized, chunked (about 500g flesh)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Carrot: 2, chunked<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Water: 3 cups<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chicken stock cube: 1<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thyme: leaves of 2 stalks<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Salt: 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cr\u00e8me fra\u00eeche: 1\/4 cup + 1\/2 cup (optional)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Country loaf: 1 loaf, sliced<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>Method<\/strong><\/em>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Heat butter in pot.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Add onions. Stir-fry till soft.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Add pumpkin, carrot, water, chicken stock cube, thyme and salt into the pot.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Leave to simmer for about 10 min till pumpkin and carrot starts to turn soft.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Stir in 1\/4 cup cr\u00e8me fra\u00eeche.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pour soup mixture into blender.
