I wanted to try jogging in some nice places for the fun of it.
- Pandan Reservoir
It has been some time since I last jogged at Pandan Reservoir. I remember I was busy preparing for the logistical arrangements in preparation for the Angkor Wat exhibition back in 2018 and decided to do a jog around the Pandan Reservoir. My logistics agent was calling me up every so often to update me about work as I reached the halfway mark of the reservoir, which was quite fun because she didn’t realise that I was in the middle of nowhere when she called, and I could continue to jog my stress out after the call because the reservoir was so big.

This reservoir is expansive. Huge. When you look across to the opposite bank, you can’t see anything at all. I think that’s why I thought it fun to do the jog here, because once you reach a point in the middle of the reservoir, it’s THE point of no return. You either turn back or continue, but either way, it doesn’t make any difference anymore because it’s going to take another half a day to reach back to the starting point (kidding). I took about 40 minutes to clock 5km in total, plus another 30minutes or so to walk back to the starting point (about 1.3km). The entire perimeter of the reservoir spans approximately 6.3km in total. Nice! No elevation, but the sandy running track can sap your energy slightly. The next time I hit 6km, I will come back for another try.
2. Bedok Reservoir
I went to the Bedok Reservoir on a separate day to accomplish the same mission – jog around the reservoir non-stop. This one spans approximately 4.3km in total, so you can actually get a glimpse of what’s there on the opposite bank of the reservoir (nothing much actually), and it’s therefore not so daunting to get started on your jog. I have been here a couple of times before, always for other visiting reasons (Forest Adventure, passing by to go to the next block, cycling along the Park Connector). I have told myself to remember come back here and try jogging one day, so here I was!

I am still not decided about which reservoir or where I will go to next for my jog, let’s see where my adventure brings me next. Till then!
