I recently received a gift with utmost joy. It is the Nespresso U coffee machine – the latest Nespresso machine in town. 😛
I am in awe of this new coffeemaker. Not only is it small and easily portable (an important feature to fit into a house like mine which has minimal space and furnishing), it is also intuitive, involving no fuss at all when it comes to preparing the coffee and cleaning the machine up. There are only 3 ‘buttons’ on this little apparatus, used for selecting the cup size: Ristretto, Espresso or Lungo. If you aren’t happy with these 3 cup sizes, you could also choose to be draconian and make the machine buttons learn your serving preferences instead.
The fragrance from the brewing of the coffee from these little capsules is seductive and irresistible. I am afraid I am going to have to bid my 3-in-1 coffee packs farewell for the time being. My weekend afternoons spent at home will never be the same again.
Verdict: A good to have for the coffee-loving puritans, especially those who appreciate the aroma and original taste of the roasted coffee beans (sans cream, milk or sugar). The capsules are very affordable too, amounting to only $1+ per small cup of coffee, which is way cheaper than visiting a nearby Starbucks or Coffeebean bistro.
