Christmas brings with it a nice smell of butter and cinnamon, spiced roast and potatoes – all of which are irresistible and calming. You can’t have a proper Christmas party without at least one of these elements.

Addictive Spanish Steamed Garlic Clams (Almejas al Ajillo)
Our fate with clams was sealed when we went to Sentosa for our staycation last year. We spent a couple of days at the Sofitel Resort and had dinner at Sabio by The Sea, Tapas Bar & Grill – a Spanish themed restaurant that serves up authentic Spanish dishes. The lady serving us recommended the clams, and made sure that we had with it a basket of crusty bread so that we could soak up with the sauce with these bread. After that round of dinner, the guy and I became converts of this dish and had never looked back since.
Mini Bretzel Bites
I’ve tried to make pretzels before, and I failed horribly. When I dipped the dough into the soda water, the dough dissolved in the solution and became unsalvagable. Not sure why that happened… but it definitely got me discouraged for some time.
Stuffed Prawns In Crispy Wanton Skin
Yesterday, the guy and I took a day off to listen in to the Primary one school orientation session arranged by the school for the parents and kiddos via Zoom. The entire session took almost two hours to listen in, and it was difficult to stay alert and awake for the entire time on an online forum. The boy gave up almost 15 minutes into the session and fell asleep at the tail end of it. It’s quite dry and rather unhelpful, unfortunately. I wish, again, that Covid wasn’t here and we could actually have the session in the school itself.
